What is TeenHacksHTX?
TeenHacksHTX is a 24-hour innovation event held online and sponsored by the University of Houston Victoria - Katy, where high school students work together to develop skills in teamwork, programming, and real world problem-solving. Participants will be able to compete in our main competition, for the best overall project created, responding to multiple themes and prompts we'll announce on they day of the competition.
Along the way, you'll be able to participate in workshops, play minigames, and listen to guest speakers - all facilitated by our sponsors.
TeenHacks HTX is the first public, high-school oriented hackathon of its kind in Houston. Despite being the fourth-largest city in the United States and a growing tech hub, real-life experience and competition is severely lacking for high-schoolers interested in STEM, and especially computer science, across the area.
We hope to change that, by providing a low-cost, easily accessible, fun, and collaborative coding competition for any high schoolers pursuing STEM and computer science to attend.
